"An education foundation designed to promote learning throughout the lifespan and to encourage people to improve the quality of life in their community"

Guido A. & Elizabeth H. Binda Foundation
Priorities - Health & Human Services

Guido and Elizabeth Binda supported programs that would improve the quality of life of individuals in the community, especially those that would support and promote the readiness of children to learn.

The Foundation is interested in initiatives that will improve the health and well-being for residents of Calhoun County.  This would include programming that provides essential human services, particularly for those who are the least able to help themselves.  These programs improve social conditions, often through an educational component of the grant, for residents in the community.

Areas of impact in Health & Human Services include:

o  Quality health & human services programs

o  Quality health education, including maternal and child health

Previous Health & Human Services grants:

1.  Calhoun County Public Health Department/Nurse-Family Partnership, School Nurse Program

2.  Big Brothers Big Sisters

3.  Charitable Union

4.  South Michigan Food Bank

5.  SAFE Place

6.  Family & Children Services

7.  Haven of Rest/Gain Access Program

8.  Bronson Health Foundation/Child Life Specialist, Sexual Assault Prevention
